This chess tournament is being held in the Waimairi School Hall. Our chess teams are competing against Paparoa Street School, Westburn School, Halswell School,West Eyreton School and Medbury School.

Good  luck to our Waimairi chess team. Go Waimairi

The chess games have started because the white player started their first moves. After a while one of the players puts their hand up to indicate the game that needs to be checked. This is what happened in the chess tournament so far: Waimairi A team won 4 wins. Thats the highest wins so far Waimairi C team won 2 games. 1 draw and 1 loss was the total for Waimairi A team it made 14 points and our B team got 13 points. C team got 12 points. They have done very well. More news soon...

And the great news is that Waimairi A (Rocco, Finley, Sophie, Daniel) came first and the Waimairi B came second. Our C team came 5th from 12 teams. Outstanding!
