Captain's Report
Waimairi School Cricket Report
By Cameron Baillie
On Friday 24th October Waimairi School hosted the first inter-primary school cricket match of the season against Paparoa Street School. Waimairi bowled first and everyone put in a fantastic effort, restricting Paparoa Street to a very limited total of 13 runs off 10 overs.
Waimairi then came in to bat with a great performance from Quinn Smith, who was declared batsman of the day by the umpire. Paparoa Street came back strongly taking several wickets but not managing to control Waimairi’s score. In the end Waimairi came away with a convincing win with a final score of 48 – 13.
Thanks to the parents and students for their great support, we are looking forward to this week’s game against Fendalton School, once again at Waimairi School.
